Muriel and Waiting...

My friend, Muriel Eulich, is a wonderful water colorist. Muriel is about to have an art opening showcasing her most amazing work ever. Muriel's art will be accompanied by the writing of author Mary Ellen Havard.
From Muriel," I have been charged with telling the stories of women who are or have battled breast cancer."
Muriel's art is always stunning, this group of paintings takes her work to a new emotional high. It is truly breathtaking.

I will be attending the opening Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Art Saint Louis,
                                                                                            555 Washington Av  Ste 150
                                                                                            St Louis Mo 63101
I hope to see you there.

Vicki

Plates, Plates, Plates

Arranging and hanging plates on a wall is another way to add color, texture and pattern to a space. Traditionally this was done in a dining room or a breakfast area. Now they can be found in every sort of room and bring a distinct element whatever the design style. What I particularly like about the grouping above is the diamond shape formed by the arrangement.
Blue and white is a classic color combination for plates. I like seeing it in a color palette that includes lavender and soft pink.
Plates in a bathroom! This collection of plates and trays from John Derian looks perfectly at home here.
Love the white of the plates on the dark wall, graphic and dramatic.
This arrangement gives the illusion the plates are floating up the wall.
Plates outside, why not? A little rain won't hurt them. Great color and I like the way some of the plates over lap each other.
Even on a patterned wall...
A stunning minimalist look for these plates, crisp and clean.
A wonderful mix, the plates, the colors, everything.
I  love this arrangement, a great balance.
And then...a rather unusual and highly creative use for plates. As part of the Lantern Festival at the Missouri Botanical Garden, these matching dragons caught my eye. Large, colorful and spewing smoke they were very impressive.

As I walked closer I realized what they were made of, plates. Lots and lots of plates.

Amazing!
So when you're trying to figure out how to arrange you plates on the wall , get creative. Who knows what will appear?

Guest Bedrooms

A guest bedroom is important. It speaks volumes about the home owner.Does it welcome your guests? Are you thoughtful ? Considerate? Do you care if your guests are comfortable? Of course you do. So once you have the appropriate elements, bedding, lighting, storage,  you are ready to design and style your guest bedroom. The one above has a wonderful, glam meets comfort style. Very nice.
An attic guest bedroom is a great opportunity to create the perfect getaway space.
Color Color Color  in a well thought out room with plenty of bedside lighting and bedding options. Not everyone likes the same sort of pillow.
More glorious color with great storage.
Something a bit more serene. I am always a fan of an upholstered headboard. It's especially great for reading in bed. The side chair and bench are a nice addition to the room.
A fun, retro bedroom. Lots of style and the desk is a thoughtful element. Everyone has a laptop or iPad.

Cool, crisp grey and white. Quietly inviting.
Black, white and a colorful skull, the right elements for this funky guest bedroom.
I love this color palette and again an upholstered headboard. The side tables are amazing and provide the needed storage.
 Beautiful, elegant and pet friendly.
Dramatic Morrocan styling with all the practical details.
I like this soft modern take on a cottage bedroom.
Alluring, dreamy and that headboard is amazing.
Stunning use of color. The soft colors of the bedding and window treatments balance the deep blue of the walls and the spring green of the bed.
An updated palette of grey, yellow and white create an exciting room.
The guest bedroom I am staying in has all the elements needed to create a practical, welcoming and beautiful room. Lighting, storage, amazing bedding. it's all here.
This guest bedroom is a wonderful mix of comfort, color, glam and history. All of my favorites.
