Color Crush: Lilac

Not everyone's color crush is a citrus shade tending this season. Some prefer to stay with softer tones. Lilac is a wonderful color that works beautifully in a soft neutral palette.  Shown is Sherwin Williams 6835 Euphoric Lilac.

Designer Guild's fabric Cabriole/ Heather blends shades of lilac with cream and metallic accents.
Soft lilac walls with pale green linen covered sofa and chairs, white trim and silver toned metal tables.
Styling by Designers Guild:  Lilac accenting shades of grey and white
A table lamp is a great place to use your color crush as an accent.

 Lamps from Arteriors
 Plate from Anthropologie
Custom designed wool rug : grey background, pattern in lilac highlighted with moss green silk
Light neutrals with aged brass table and lilac accents.
White, grey, taupe, cream and lilac
Your color crush is whatever you like. Trends are fun but they don't have to define what you like and have in your home. What is your color crush?

Schumacher Covers The Chairs Heading to Ireland

The chairs shown in this post are on their way to a client's home in Ireland. I took the photos on my client's drive way and in the garage the day the furniture was being packed for the container. They have all been covered or recovered in fabrics from Schumacher.  The first chair is from Vanguard Furniture. They did a great job using this wonderful printed ikat pattern on their Farris chair. I love the stainless steel base on the chair.

The Farris chair in a plain fabric.

My client bought this chair locally. I like the nice high back and sturdy arms. It was recovered in a vibrant printed paisley linen fabric. An amazing  transformation..

This gorgeous French chair from Wisteria takes on a whole new personality covered in a textural chevron patterned fabric. A beautiful chair became even more stunning.  Have I mentioned how much I like Schumacher fabrics?  Great colors, patterns and texture, they have it all. In a few weeks, when everything is in place, I will show you the chairs in  their new home.

An Antique French Wing Chair And Happy Mother's Day

A client of mine inherited this gorgeous French wing chair from her Mom. It was covered in an elegant blue damask fabric, and although  fabulous it wasn't the look we wanted in my client's new home. So...

It was recovered in this beautiful cut velvet fabric from Designers Guild. Cabriole Turquoise is a classic rococo pattern in updated colorways. This amazing chair has been given a new life for the next generations of the family.
                                                 Happy Mother's Day.

Navy Blue

My latest color crush is navy blue.  Pantone calls is Sodalite Blue and Sherwin Williams has #6967 Frank Blue.
Navy blue is crisp, smart and classic.
It looks great with clear white, silver grey, bright fuchsia and vibrant yellow. I also like it with turquoise.
 A strong, confident color palette.
 Love the mix of colors.
I used this photo when I was posting about Capri. I used it again because it shows off the use of navy so well.
The white iron work on the navy door is stunning.
 Beautiful.
You can almost hear the crinkling of the navy silk.
